Our Story

Louise died in late December 2022 after a two-and-a-half-year battle with pancreatic cancer. The prevalence of this cancer is expected to increase in the coming years, with a survival rate of just 4% five years after diagnosis. The Louise Davie Charitable Trust was established in her memory.

The purpose of the trust is to raise funds for research into earlier diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, which is a major issue as symptoms are not visible until the cancer has advanced.. The goal is to improve treatment, outcomes and survival rates.

The Trust plans to stage regular fundraising functions and events around the country as well as seek support from funding agencies, corporates, and individuals. The Davie family donated $100,000 to set the trust underway with additional funding already pledged by many others. The Trust has full charitable status and will be administered by Louise's husband Steve at no charge, with 100% of funds going towards research.
